Boiler Repair & Gas Pressure Issues – Hartley

Worcester Bosch Greenstar boiler stopped working in Hartley, Longfield, Kent.

On inspecting the boiler and carrying out a gas pressure test, it was found we had standing pressure, but the the pressure dropped to zero when the boiler tried to fire up. We cut in a test nipple to double check these pressure readings.

The emergency gas services were called to ensure the regulator was working correctly, which it was. This confirmed our suspicion that the gas pipework was blocked somewhere.

A new gas run was ran from the gas meter to the opposite side of the house and a new supply to the gas fire. The gas was backed up in 28mm to allow for adequate pressure and for future-proofing if a combination boiler was to be installed.

The working pressure at the test nipple is now correct, as you can see from the working pressure test of 20 milibar.

The boiler was serviced and a new heat exchanger gasket and electrodes fitted. The baffles were removed and heat exchanger brushed out.

A warm, happy and safe customer!
