Unvented cylinder replacement carried out for a customer in Gravesend, Kent, after a Megaflo 300 litre cylinder developed a fault.
The baffles inside the cylinder had failed, a common issue with this design of unvented cylinder.
As the fault was covered under warranty, the manufacturer supplied a replacement cylinder direct to the customer, which we then installed.
The installation was not straightforward. The original cylinder had been lowered into place from above during earlier building work, with the floor then built around it. This meant the old cylinder had to be cut in half to remove it, and the replacement cylinder supplied would not fit through the available access.
A Joule 250 litre unvented cylinder was fitted instead, better suited to the space available.
All pipework was reconfigured to suit the new cylinder, and a scale reducer was installed to help protect it against limescale.
